Two wind energy companies would like to put 750 wind turbines off the MD-DE coast.  The turbines would be 856 feet tall.  They have received leasing permits from BOEM and have received a blessing from the MD PSC.  

The next step is to erect a meteorological tower off of OC shores.  In January of this year, a hearing was convened in OC to request an evidentiary hearing in front of the MD PSC because the permits were granted for 150 foot turbines.  The turbines are now 850 feet tall.   The evidentiary hearing was held and our MD PSC granted the wind companies and right to erect 856 foot towers.  https://www.delmarvanow.com/story/news/local/maryland/2020/08/21/larger-wind-turbines-approved-off-oc-coast-what-you-need-know/3406593001/

 The lease area is as close as 11 nautical miles off our shores.  The turbines will be seen both day and at night with their red blinking lights.
